New Investor Pass
The Investor Pass is a multiple-entry visa for eligible foreign investors to conduct business in Malaysia, offering an initial six-month stay with a possible six-month extension. Launched on April 1, 2025, it replaces the previous Social Visit Pass for business visitors and streamlines the entry process, with applications processed online through the within five working days. It is available to new, in-pipeline, and existing investors who meet specific criteria, such as having a business profile from their country of origin and being in a decision-making role.

and out of Malaysia throughout the pass's validity period.
· Duration: Provides an initial six-month stay, which can be
extended for another six months.
· Processing time: Approvals are typically issued within five
working days.
· Application portal: Applications are submitted electronically via the Xpats Gateway system.
Eligibility Criteria

Age: Must be
over 18 years old.
·
Business profile: Requires a business profile from the country of
origin or other countries.
·
Position: Must hold a C-suite position or be an equivalent
decision-maker.
·
Investor category: Available to foreign investors in one of these
three categories:
v New Investors: Potential investors with no prior investment record
in Malaysia.
v Investors in the Pipeline: Those in negotiations with the Malaysian government or who have submitted project applications to MIDA.

Application Process

Submit
the application through the MTM.
2.
Provide
all required documents, such as a business profile and other documents specific
to your investor category.
3.
If
your application is approved, ready for visit social.
4.
After
approval, you may need to apply for a Single Entry Visa (SEV) from the
Malaysian consular services in your country of residence to enter Malaysia.

a) Age 18 years and above. b) Immigration status – Must not be on the Immigration Department of Malaysia's Suspect List or Blacklist (SLBL). c) Security clearance – Must not have a criminal record under the Royal Malaysia Police's (PDRM) Security Clearance (BRI). d) Employment status - Must be currently employed by a company registered in their country of origin. e) Purpose of travel - Must be traveling for business purposes only. f) Pass status – Must not hold any Long-Term Pass issued by the Immigration Department of Malaysia. g) Passport Validity - Must possess a passport with validity period of not less than 6 months. h) Employment Restriction - Not allowed to engage in any employment activities in Malaysia. |
