Issued to those who intend to study in China for more than 180 days. Requires an admission notice and a JW201 or JW202 form from the Chinese institution.
Issued to those who intend to work in China. The employer obtains a Notification Letter of Foreigner's Work Permit from the Chinese authorities before the visa can be applied for.
Issued to those who are high-level talents or whose skills are urgently needed in China. Eligibility is confirmed by the competent Chinese authority.
Issued to resident foreign journalists of foreign news organisations stationed in China for more than 180 days. Requires accreditation from the Chinese authorities.

Myanmar passport holders must hold a visa before travelling to China. There is no visa on arrival. China's 240-hour visa-free transit policy covers 55 countries and Myanmar is not one of them — its Asian entries are South Korea, Japan, Singapore, Brunei, the UAE, Qatar and Indonesia. If you are only changing planes in China, you still need a transit (G) visa.
The application form is completed online at cova.cs.mfa.gov.cn and printed in full, an appointment is booked at avas.cs.mfa.gov.cn, and the papers are submitted in person at the Chinese Embassy in Yangon, where fingerprints are taken. Applicants under 14 or over 70 are among those exempt from fingerprinting. We prepare the file, check it and guide you through the appointment.
Regular processing is about four working days at the embassy, with an express service in two to three. Allow longer in peak season, and apply at least three weeks before you travel.
Two recent colour photographs, 48 x 33 mm, white background, bare-headed. This is not the same size as a Myanmar passport photo — we take them at the counter.
Requirements are set by the Chinese Embassy and can change without notice. The consular officer may ask for further documents or an interview.
