Pakistan — visa requirements for Myanmar passport holders

You need a visa

Myanmar passport holders must hold a visa before travelling to Pakistan. Myanmar is not on Pakistan's visa-on-arrival ("Visa in Your Inbox") list for tourists, its group-tourism list or its visa-exemption list for ordinary passports — apply, and receive the visa, before you fly.

Which visa

  • Tourist / Visit: holidays and short visits. Myanmar is on List A, so the visa gives three months validity and stay, double entry.
  • Family Visit: for people of Pakistani origin and their foreign spouses — up to five years, multiple entry, up to a year per visit.
  • Business: Myanmar is on the Business-Friendly (BVL) list, so a multiple-entry business visa of up to five years can be granted. Needs a chamber of commerce recommendation or an endorsed invitation from Pakistan.
  • Work: with a confirmed job offer; the employer's documents are required.
  • Medical: a short-term treatment visa, issued within 48 hours.
  • Study, religious, NGO, journalist: need an approval or NOC from the Pakistani side first — ask us.

How it is lodged

Every application is made online through the Pakistan Online Visa System at visa.nadra.gov.pk, and the fee is paid online in US dollars. It is not refundable. If the embassy asks for more documents they must be uploaded within 7 days, or the application is cancelled automatically. The Embassy of Pakistan in Yangon (A-4, Diplomatic Quarters, Pyay Road) handles applications from Myanmar nationals. We prepare and lodge the application and watch it for queries.

Do not book non-refundable travel until the electronic Visa Grant Notice arrives by email.

Government fees for Myanmar nationals

  • Tourist / visit: USD 25 single entry, USD 37.50 multiple entry up to one year, USD 50 beyond one year.
  • Business / work: USD 100 single entry, USD 150 multiple entry up to one year, USD 200 beyond one year.
  • Visa extension inside Pakistan: USD 20.

These include Pakistan's surcharges, the NADRA service charge and the bank fee. Our service fee is added at the counter.

Timing

Standard processing is 7 to 10 working days; business and medical visas have shorter targets. Apply at least three weeks before you travel.

Staying longer

A tourist visa can be extended at a Regional Passport Office in Pakistan to six months in total. Overstaying by more than two weeks costs USD 50, rising to USD 200 beyond one month and USD 400 a year beyond three months.

Requirements and fees are set by the Government of Pakistan and can change without notice. The embassy may ask for further documents or an interview.
